Sponsor a Child

Sponsor a Child.  Change a Future!

We have around 50 Bajao children who have attending our Amazing Grace Learning Center Preschool in order to be prepared to enter into mainstream elementary education.  The Bajao are an indigenous tribe that until now have been deemed uneducateable.  Due to Grace's work over the past 6 years with these precious people the IIPD (Institute of Indigenous People Education) for all the Philippines have developed a curriculum in the mother tongue of all the indigenous tribes for elementary school around the country that will be introduce June 2011.
You being committed to support these children for at least a year helps them to be committed to continue in school.  Some of the kids are old for their grade.  That is because the have either entered the preschool late or have been pulled out of school due to persecution or to work.  As a despised minority they are often bullied in school.   They are a non-confrontational people so they would just leave.  Also it has taken time to convince the families that an education is valuable.  Things have improved and we expect them t to improve further as their beloved teacher Gracie is transitioning into the elementary school now in order to help keep the Bajao protected, focused and consistent.  You will receive a picture of your child.  Please be sure to keep them in your prayers. This is the first generation of this people group to make such leaps and bounds in terms of education.  As of now less than 1% of adults are literate.
